INCIDENT NARRATIVE
On April 25, 2010 at 9:05 AM, I, Officer Richard Glenalby, was dispatched to a Harassment call at 122 Belt Line Road. Upon arrival, I met the reporting party/victim GRANTA, KEVIN, DOB: 2/11/1971. He was obviously highly agitated. I asked what had happened, if there were any witnesses and how long ago it had occurred. He gestured at the treeline on the opposite side of the road and said that it was occurring right now. As I did not see anything except the treeline, I asked him to describe what he saw. He became very upset and stated that the three unknown suspects were sitting on the hood of a black four (4)-door American sedan across the road, behind the treeline. I stated that not only did I not see anything like what he was describing, but it would not be possible to fit an automobile of any make or model between the trees across the road (i.e. no clearing). He looked across road, shook his head, looked across road again, began crying. I took description of three unknown suspects from him, and put out a BOLO to all units in the area as SOP.
I advised the victim on the procedure to follow to seek a restraining order against these individuals if he learns their identities. Due to continued agitation, I inquired as to mental health of victim – he stated he was “fine” and asked why I would ask him such a question. I asked if victim had been drinking or using drugs that day – victim became even more agitated and answered in similar manner to previous question. Due to continued agitation, I left card with HELPLINE phone number and informed of mental health services available at Northwoods Memorial Medical Center. I then left and briefly canvassed the area for the suspects with negative results.
Detective Glenn Farris, Unit-109, notified of the incident. A copy of the report has been forwarded to him for any further investigative follow-up and final disposition of the case.
